Usually when teenagers dye their hair, they do it peroxide blonde or neon green.
But Selena Gomez has switched styles by opting to go just a few shades lighter.
The Wizards of Waverly Place actress was seen sporting a softer hue while attending the Hotel Transylvania press event at Sony Pictures Imageworks in Culver City, California.

Before and after: Selena in Cannes last week and today, sporting a fairer hue
Selena, 19, posed with a giant tiered cake in honour of Mavis's 118 birthday party - notably the fictional character she voices in the children's animation.
The family comedy is set against the backdrop of a vampire resort, and follows owner Dracula go into overprotective mode when a boy discovers the hideaway and falls for his teenage daughter.
A host of famous voices will join Selena, including Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg and Steve Buscemi.
Dressed in a summer chic ensemble, Justin Bieber's squeeze posed with the bat-decorated treat in torn jeans and a bright orange sleeveless top.
Starring role: Selena loans her vocals to the role of Mavis, alongside Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg
A rather stark contrast from her latest less wholesome Spring Breakers project, Selena appears to be excited over her new role.
Last week, she tweeted: 'Hotel Transylvania trailer airing tonight on ET at 7:00pm!!!! So excited for you guys to see this movie it is so good.'
Yet Selena very nearly missed out on the opportunity, with Miley Cyrus originally announced to voice the part of Mavis in November 2011.
However, four months later she pulled out citing conflicting work interests.
